Late-night food delivery begins in coastal cities

First the Midnight Muncheez dudes delivered snacks, then alcohol, and now, they’re going to bring fresh-baked pizzas and sandwiches, plus hot dogs, to your door.
Residents of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach will reap the rewards of late-night delivery that will last until 3 a.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Beginning tonight, Midnight Muncheez will sell sandwiches (”fat” sandwiches, says co-owner Jared Jones, pictured left) with such fillings as pastrami, turkey, meatballs and roast beef. They’ll be available hot or cold for about $7.
There’s also a king-size hot dog with a smattering of toppings that can be ordered.
The real highlight, which Jones said is expected to launch Aug. 21, is the 14-inch pizza, eight slices per pie, that will cost $11.99. Each topping will cost $1 and there’s a normal selection of meats and veggies to choose from.
The idea is that not everybody drinks late into the night, but even non-drinkers have to eat, Jones said.
“We still want to continue preventing as many DUIs as we can’,” he said. “That’s the huge thing right there.”
Midnight Muncheez can be reached at 1-877-EZ-MUNCH or at midnightmuncheez.com. Eventually online ordering will be available, Jones said, but for now you’ll have to kick it old school and dial the digits.

Love it! We used to have Pink Dot on speed dial back in the day (what was that? Like 8 years ago or so?).
Also, perfect for not having the argument about who has to make the drinks/food run when too many people show up for a party. Now, I just wish they were in North County!

there is a good reason that the ice cream he’s holding is called “half baked” this is like the stoner stimulus
“Uhhh yeah, I want your large pepperoni pizza, make that 2 of em, 2 large bags of Doritos, 4 of the large pastrami sandwiches, a half gallon of Hagen Daz chocolate ice cream, a 12 pack of Diet Coke, a bag of Mrs.’ Fields white chocolate /macadamia nut cookies….and a pack of white zig zags.”
This sounds great, stay home get ripped, then call the munchie dudes. Too funny. I’d like to see their P&L’s. Will people use their services?

Actually I am interested in seeing how they do. PinkDot seemed like a fantastic idea at the time, but then they were gone a couple years later.
Suggestion for expansion of their market -
pregnant women and the soon to be dads who don’t want to make a 2am ice cream run.
parents stuck at home because thier kids had to go to bed, but who have a late night case of the munchies. (I know of a sizable number of couples who parent in “shifts” in this ugly economy, basically leaving one person a “single parent” at night while the other goes to work the night shift.)
On that note - people who work the night shift!
Also, Gamers! Get some flyers in every video game store and roleplaying game store in your service area. This service would have rocked to have during some of the LAN parties I’ve been to.
Not to mention those WoW shut-ins that don’t want to leave a raid to go to 7-11.
They should add Prickly Pear juice to the list. Cures the hangover before it starts. I know I’d order it near the end of the night!
