Chocolate: Garlic breath cure?

Best cupcakes in OC?

So after my garlic overdose the other day, I had to find some relief. I could not get that garlic taste out of my mouth and I even resorted to Googling “How to get rid of garlic breath.” One of the suggestions? Chocolate. (Sounded much tastier than the other recommended remedy of parsley.) My first thought was, I need a cupcake, stat. And it had to be from Dolcissimo. I’ve had some inconsistent results there — the cake part was almost always a tad dry but I always loved the flavor of their cake and frosting best. And I’m happy to report that the baking issues appear to be resolved — the cupcakes are dangerously divine. I’m in trouble …

My Chocolate Fantasy (chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting) was delectable. Perfectly moist with deliciously luscious (and I believe the fluffiest) frosting from their selection of 20 or so flavors. I love that the frosting is a milk chocolate so that it’s not intense chocolate overkill. (I love their Cloud 9 or bourbon vanilla cupcake, too!)

So in terms of which gourmet cupcakery takes the ah, cake for me, it’s officially Dolcissimo. And my garlic breath? Well, the chocolate was a lovely distraction but apparently the only real fix is time.

P.S. I’m told Dolcissimo is opening a second location come Christmas-time at the Irvine Spectrum Center.

Update 7/28/08: Dolcissimo has closed its Costa Mesa location and will re-open in Chino Hills mid-October. No word whether Dolcissimo will even open at Irvine Spectrum Center.

I have just stumbled upon your blog. I love the clean design and fantastic photos. I am a blogger myself and always thought that design was key and you have certainly captured that! There are so many food blogs out there these days and being different to all the others is key. I have just started http://www.ifoods.tv which is a website for chefs, foodies and food bloggers to hand out, share recipes, photos and videos. When i was blogging I always thought i should be getting more traffic as my blog was getting lost in the masses of stuff out there so my new site is aimed at giving food bloggers and chefs a bigger platform! Hope you enjoy it and keep up the good writing and design here! I have now bookmarked you so will be regular reader, Cheers!
