I recently made an ice cream stop at Han’s Homemade Ice Cream and Deli, one of my favorite ice cream haunts. Not only can you get some of the best ice cream this county has to offer (Han?s uses a cream that?s higher in fat than many places around here), but Han?s also has a lunch menu with some pretty good sandwiches and soups. This means you don?t have to drive around beforehand for something savory to cushion the sugar blow that you?ll soon unleash on your stomach.

Before splurging on a few flavors of ice cream, I ordered some of Han’s chili. The chili?s glistening beans promised me a satisfying, small-but-hearty meal, making good on that promise with each spoonful. I wasn?t too full, and was able to have some of that amazing ice cream after all.

Comfort in a tiny bowl
