Speaking of Kabobs

My last post in which I mention Kochee Kabob House had me thinking of kabob places.

Some favorites:

Grill Hut, 27020 Alicia Parkway (corner of Alicia and Pacific Park), Laguna Niguel. (949) 831-7380. The ground beef kabobs are juicy, chicken breast, cut in medium-size chunks, are lemony. The tabouleh is also good.

Rosine’s, 721 S. Weir Canyon Road, Anaheim Hills. (714) 283-5141. The highlight here is the luleh (ground beef) kabob, tinged with flecks of parsley and practically bursting with allspice and pepper. The menu is a nice compendium of what dinner in Armenian households entails (except for the garlic mashed potatoes.)

Kareem’s Restaurant, 1208 S. Brookhurst St., Anaheim. (714) 778-6829. The thickest kabobs you could ask for, full of parsley and spice. The fetoush salad - purslane (when in season), tomato, onion and dried pita bread in a lemon dressing - is a must.
